I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and EMDRIA Certified therapist, and provide therapy for adults from all walks of life and experiences, from childhood and violence-related trauma to those struggling with major life decisions about career, marriage, and family. My professional background includes 18 years in the medical field including working with organ donor families, which provides me with unique skills and insight into trauma.
I earned my Masters Degree in Community Psychology from Alverno College and post-masters certificate in Trauma Informed Care from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and post-masters certificate in Forensic Criminology from Umass-Lowell, where I am currently pursuing a Masters of Art in Criminal Justice. Additional education and experience includes Certified Complex Trauma Professional-II, Clinical Certified Trauma Specialist-Sex Trafficking & Exploitation, and Certified Human Trafficking Victim Services Provider.
I choose to work with those who have experienced trauma because they are some of the most resilient individuals I have ever met. Those who live with trauma symptoms as well as PTSD have found ways to survive and navigate their world and make things work, which is remarkable and a testament to the human spirit. I believe in working collaboratively with clients, because they are the expert on their lives. I don't tell clients what to do, but instead honor their instinct for knowing what they need and offer them resources. My practice is a secure, judgment free place to begin to explore or continue on the path to mental wellness.
